Chismosa Cafe

This place is a cute hole in the wall spot...very nice atmosphere and great food...it's my second time coming here for brunch and the customer service is always great and the staff is kind and attentive! I always get the chicken and waffles and they are delicious! The raspberry lemonade is delicious and not too sweet! It can get very busy so wait times will vary...make a reservation and it's a breeze!

Super cute cafe with some neon decor and a little shrine to Selena in the corner. Anything for Selenas! Come and gossip while you sip on your cafecito and enjoy desayunos. I had to start my breakfast out with an iced cafe de olla latte. Rad Coffee was tempting me right down the street in downtown Covina but I had to choose this over Rad! The taro-chata and vanilla vice lattes sound good and I need to try those next! Chismosa's chilaquiles are served either red or green and come with beans, salsa, cotija cheese, onion and crema in a generous portion and both tasted really sweet to my tastebuds. I couldn't quite pin down what ingredient made it taste like candy (chimi?), but this isn't a complaint. The West Cochina burrito with pork belly, bacon, eggs, potatoes and salda verde is sizeable but not too big. I'm thinking of the breakfast burrito from Alpha Omega down the street as a burrito that's way too big and needs a full three hands to chomp down. The burrito was not as sweet as the chilaquiles. You check-in to the restaurant on an iPad out front, and my wait was shorter than estimated.

Adorable cafe with delicious coffee options and nostalgic breakfast options! Ordered the churro butter waffle and huevo con weenie and both were delightful! Husband ordered the chismosa option of chilaquiles and added pork belly. He loved it. Also got the drip coffee and the white chocolate mint latte iced and they were excellent!

This was my first time being at this cafe. They are only for breakfast and lunch, the cafe is small but very cute. Aesthetic is very warm and cute they also have outdoor seating and welcome pets on their patio. We ordered the Tres Leches waffle, that came with a cream and banana topping. Chicken and waffle, cauliflower chorizo burrito and a club sandwich. All the food tasted great! Venue does not offer take out but you can order coffee and tea to go along with season drinks that they offer. Cafe offers a lot of vegan and vegetarian options and free oat milk option for the coffee. They have a large section of chili quilles options as well so it’s nice to have a variety for your meal. The wait staff was also amazing and very attentive. Venue has an iPad to do a Yelp check in. I don’t think they take in advanced reservations but the check in and seating process in junction with Yelp was easy!

This was another coffee shop I checked out to work at. I'd say it was more of a breakfast place to come eat and get coffee and hang out with friends. There was not a ton of seating and it got busy so I felt bad for hanging around a long time. That being said it's super cute inside and they coffee and food were both so so good. I wish they had longer hours.

Loved my experience here! It does get crowded and when you first arrive they’ll have you check in on an iPad. We waited around 20 min. The service was fantastic and the food came out fast. We enjoyed everything we ordered. I loved the taro horchata! It’s on the sweeter side. Everything tasted fresh and it was all well prepared. Looking forward ti my next visit!

Just had breakfast at Chismosa Café after several recommendations from friends. The food was exceptional. I had the Tres Leches Waffle and an Horchata Cold Brew. Both were delicious. Service was fine. The two ladies that were working were both friendly. They helped me almost immediately, food and coffee both came out very quickly. The diner itself was clean and well kept. The decore matched their theme well, I especially loved their tribute to Selena (if you know, you know). It was a little pricey but that's to be expected at a small business like this. I don't mind paying a bit more to support a small business, especially when I'm eating/drinking something I can't make myself at home. Will definitely come back regularly for coffee and occasionally for breakfast.
